Now that the Jets have their general manager in place, focus will turn to the reshuffling of the front office that follows a big change. Some names have already popped up in rumors.
Names that could be joining Joe Douglas in NY include former Browns GM Phil Savage and Ravens exec Chad Alexander

I think the Jets hit a HR with the bases loaded with their picks for HC and GM. Joe Douglas wanted @nflnetwork's Daniel Jeremiah to join him in NY but that's not happening. Another person who has spent time in the media, Phil Savage, could be Douglas' guy.

Savage is particularly notable since he is a former general manager in the league. He spent 2005 through 2008 holding the job with the Cleveland Browns. His tenure was not particularly successful, but I think in general it is a good practice for a first time head coach or general manager to have somebody on the staff who previously held that job. There are going to be things to pop up in this job that Douglas will never expect so it seems like a good idea to have a former general manager as a sounding board.
Alexander has spent two decades working in the Baltimore front office, which saw a lot of overlap with Douglas’ tenure with the Ravens.
