The Jets have a new general manager. It is Joe Douglas from the Philadelphia Eagles. The team announced the hiring on Friday night. The hiring is receiving close to universal praise from the media and people in the league. Douglas is highly regarded and seems like the antidote to the disappointing years and chaotic months that preceded his arrival.
Due to Douglas’ hiring I have a special Saturday podcast for you today. On the show I discuss why it is seems like Douglas had to be convinced to take the job, and why that is a good thing for the Jets. It seems like he was only going to be the general manager of this team on his terms, and those terms might be what the Jets need to get back on track. His experience also makes him a strong choice to turn this organization around. For the first time in quite a while it feels to me like the Jets might have a direction.
Thanks for listening.
