On one of the benefits of hiring Joe Douglas:
The best part of the Joe Douglas hire, we don’t have to hear about every little thing Bell does or says.

On why we can expect Leonard Williams to have a good year:
Gregg Williams
My friend ,has all but announced that Leo will be unleashed on the league. Commented the other day about the difference between him.and former coaches was simply put “I know how to use my defensive line”

On why we should extend Robby Anderson:
If Robby goes out and proves himself for 70+ rec 1K+ yard and 8 TDs he will cost double compared what you could secure him for right now. For a former UDFA the offer of guaranteed money right now could be too enticing to pass up. Jets have negotiating power now that they won’t have 9 months from now

On the importance of a GM having “vision”:
There’s a saying in hockey. You skate to where the puck is going to be not to where it is.
The same goes for valuing players. A good GM needs to have vision and see what players can do, not just what they’ve done. If you only pay players after they’ve proven it, you are going to have a roster full of players being paid at or more than league average. I’d be genuinely shocked if Leo didn’t have a bounce back season. It doesn’t even require that Leo play substantially better. Just the additions of Q Will and Polite, as well as the upgrade from Kacy Rodgers to Greg Williams, should cause Leo’s performance to improve. A good GM would see that coming and extend Leo before Leo does it on the field and makes the Jets pay market rates.

On his thoughts about Adam Gase:
These are my thoughts on Gase
1. He is a very intelligent offensive mind and will scheme a competent offense that will help our QB, which is something we haven’t seen since Chad Pennington worked with Brian Schottenheimer. As much sh*t as we give Schotty and rightfully so he’s been the best OC we’ve had this century, which is why I’m excited to see what Gase can do with our offense and have him drag this team into the 21st century, which should allow Sam to flourish. Not saying Sam wouldn’t be good without Gase, just saying his 21st century scheme will make it easier on Sam than whatever Bates was doing last year. 2. Case knows what he knows and won’t get in Gregg Williams’ way. Allowing for two separate HCs of this team and allowing him to focus entirely on the offense without the worry that his DC is completely incompetent like he had to in Miami after Vance Joseph left. 3. Gase is going to shock people with his lack of wasted TOs. In his 3 years as HC he had the 7th fewest wasted TOs in the NFL. After watching Bowles, 2nd most wasted TOs, that’s going to be an amazing change. 4. I think Gase is the kind of HC who doesn’t actually move the needle for a team. I think he’s one of those coaches who won’t lose you games but won’t win them for you either. He’ll give his players a chance to win the game if they’re good enough, and god do I hope Darnold and this defense is good enough.

On what he would offer Robby Anderson in a new deal:
I wouldn’t sign Anderson for what people here are willing to. He’s a completely one-dimensional WR who disappears for weeks at a time when his game gets taken away. I wouldn’t offer anything more then about $3 Million/year on him.
-gamerk316
On what he would offer Robby Anderson in a new deal:
Give Robbie the same deal Enunwa got. No true #1 there yet, but from Q, Robbie, Herndon, Crowder, and Bell, some combo of very effective receiver production will emerge. All of this assumes that Darnold’s growth curb increases as hoped. Funny how having a good QB makes the receivers better.
-Fartman
On the value of Leonard Williams:
Just listening to the way that people in the league talk about him, I think he’s probably thought more highly of there than he is amongst fans
-Scandalous Jack
On why Joe Douglas was a good hire:
this is a big reason why Douglas was the right hire...
with his experience and relationships, he is going to build a killer front office. I’m f’n giddy.
-JoJo Beans
On Gases’ genius of Douglas works out:
Seems like a great staff. If Joe Douglas turns out to be the real deal...
That’d make Gase a genius, right? Forcing Macc out before coaching a single game and paving the way for Joe to save the franchise? Many were puzzled by the timing but, in the end, Gase’s plan worked and his friend has the reigns. All part of his genius plan
