The Jets have been awarded linebacker James Burgess off waivers from Miami. To clear a spot on the roster, the team has placed running back Jalin Moore on the NFI list.
We've claimed LB James Burgess from the Dolphins and placed RB Jalin Moore on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list.

Burgess has bounced around quite a bit since entering the league in 2016. The Jets will be the sixth organization he has spent time with. Many of his stops have been only for training camp or the practice squad.
He does have experience playing for both Adam Gase and Gregg Williams. Burgess spent his first training camp with Miami in 2016. He eventually spent part of three seasons in Cleveland. His time overlapped with Williams’ stint on the Browns coaching staff. After Cleveland let him go in 2018, he found his way back to Gase’s Dolphins as a member of the practice squad for the rest of the season.
Burgess played his college ball at Louisville before entering the NFL.
