On The recent Jet moves:

Maccagnan is Gone Yay, Wait its May 15th not January? What?

Maccagnan gone: Makes sense Fired in May: Makes no sense Gase getting all the control: Makes ABSOLUTELY no sense Jets being a joke of the NFL: Makes PERFECT sense.

On the potential of signing Joe Douglas as next GM:

Silver Lining I guess

This is a legitimate candidate who has been given serious cred for Philly’s turnaround. He’s also worked under Ozzie Newsome for 10 plus years as a scout. So he’s got an eye for talent. I would pull the trigger and not think twice.

On the potential of signing Champ Kelly as the new GM:

Champ Kelly

I know nothing about him. However, his first name screams winner, so I’m in

On the current state of the Jets:

Everyone is entitled to their opinions

But I have to be honest, it bothers me when Jets fans echo the media who call this a circus, a farce, a clown show etc. The media has an agenda when it comes to the Jets, they are always going to paint this as a dysfunctional sideshow the first chance they get. Sometimes, RARELY, they are right and not overstating it, but this time it is the kind of FAKE NEWS that makes people detest the media. If you look at Mac’s track-record in the draft, it’s absolutely indefensible. Like 90% of his picks are out of the league out not worth a damn. So why not fire him sooner? Because it’s difficult to put together a GM and scouting staff just prior to the draft. Most teams won’t even give you permission to talk to them, much less hire them, because they know too much about their current teams evaluations and plans. Frankly Gase wanted Joe Douglas and it’s been no secret, they were thick as thieves on the Bears staff and they share a similar vision about how a football team is built, but he’s the current VP of Player Personnel for the Eagles and there’s NO WAY they were letting him walk when he knew EVERYTHING about their FA evaluations, draft evaluations and plans. If Gase wanted him, and he does, we had to wait till after free agency and the draft. Now we have everything in place, a new HC and the GM he wanted and shares a philosophy with. Sure the timing could have been better, but there are other factors involved that practically forced us to wait until after FA and the draft. This is not a circus or a sideshow, this is an organization doing business the right way, getting their HC and GM on the same page.

On the NY media:

NY Media

I usually can take it with a grain of salt, we’re all used to it. Hack reporters in the biggest market, anything crappy article/tweet/Instagram post and so on gets enough attention to be considered news. This year I think the perceived “issues” have been blown out of porportion and made into a bigger deal than it really is. Yes they hired a coach many have questions about, but hey they hired an offensive minded young coach to relate to the most important player the Jets have had in 30 years, can’t get mad at that. They canned a GM many of us wanted gone. The timing was not the norm but end result it he’s gone, have a owner who doesn’t know what he’s really doing and was reluctant to pull the trigger, can’t be shocked there. Anthony Barr is a tool and I’m glad he’s not here, wasn’t a good fit or anywhere neat the price tag. All in all I’m much happier with this team today than I was 6 months ago, Jets just do these things in their own ass backwards way, are we surprised here?

On Jordan Leggett being cut:

When Jordan Leggett got cut:

Whoever from the Jets: I’m sorry Jordan but we are going to have to let you go. Jordan Leggett: How come??? Whoever from the Jets: Wesco! Jordan Leggett: I completely understand and 100% respect that!

On how the Maccagnan firing can change the Outlook on our season:

Jets Over/Under win line

Pre Maccagnan Firing: 7.5 Post Maccagnan Firing: 7.5 whatever.

-Broadway Jose

On the Jets since Mangini/Rex/Tannenbaum:

That play where Santonio caught the ball, injured himself, and then put the ball on the ground for the other team to run back for a TD…..That basically encapsulates the post-Mangini-Rex-Tannenbaum years. Like saying “here New England, we don’t want the division, you take it. you don’t even need to earn it. just take it.”

-NamathFreaksOutCallingAllegreFG

On the what it takes to improve an NFL team quickly:

you can turn it around rather quickly in the NFL

as long as you have the QB and the right people in charge. We watched the giants rebuild multiple times around a younger Manning and a competent coach and front office. The Jets have yet to prove they have the right people in charge. But we have our QB, finally, at least.

-Baumgartner

On Hymie Elhai, Christopher Johnson, and Adam Gase leading the Jets GM search:

A lawyer, a billionaire, and Adam Gase walk into Florham Park...

The lawyer says to the billionaire, “Who you got in mind for GM?” The billionaire says “No clue. What do you think coach Gase?” Coach Gase shoots laser beams out of his eyes and the lawyer and the billionaire spontaneously combust.
