Top Comments:
On the Jets current cornerback situation:
Jets cornerback situation with Morris Claiborne: Awful Jets cornerback situation without Morris Claiborne: Awful Doesn’t really move the needle one way or the other IMO

On Gase foregoing rookie minicamp:
I wasn’t a fan of the Gase hire
But hopefully he will continue to be full of pleasant surprises like this one

On why Jachai Polite will be a steal:
Steal of the Draft
It’s not even that he’s a projected 1 who slid to RD 3, though that’s part of it, but the main reason this is the steal of the draft is because I have eyes and I think I know an elite edge rusher when I see one, tailor-made for the 3-4 RUSH OLB position. That’s why he was a consensus 1, heck, on most boards ahead of Brian Burns and Montez Sweat prior to interviewing poorly and a poor combine, frankly getting himself out of shape for the combine and pro day because his genius handlers convinced him bigger is better. But this kid loves football. The passion you see from him on the football field is real and cannot be faked. So I believe the Jets are getting the real Jachai Polite, the one who had scouts and GM’s salivating when the 2018 season ended, and that spells trouble for the rest of the league.

On whether or not we should resign Leonard Williams this off-season:
I said a week or so back they should extend him now.
I think I had 4 years, $80 million, $45 million guaranteed. It’s an overpay. But I think Leo gets 7 sacks this year. If his other numbers stay the same that is going to look like a bargain come free agency next year. And next year is the last year of the CBA. If the cap goes up to $225 million or more in 2021, which I believe it will, a lot of players not nearly as good as Leo will be getting even bigger deals.
-Traveling Man
On the impact Quinnen Williams will have on Leonard Williams:
I said early in the draft process that I thought getting Quinnen would essentially be like grabbing two firsts because of the impact it would have on Leo and I still believe that, This is Leo’s breakout year. 8 sacks. Pro Bowl/All Pro Talk talk. Quinnen and Polite throw up 6 and 8, respectively, and we’re looking at the pass rush as a strength going into next season

Wesco = Baby Gronk?????
More like, Gronk = Baby Wesco
-Scandalous Jack
On Gregg Williams’ potential effect on Polite:
I think Gregg could harden him up a bit and get him disciplined with his approach to the game. He’ll probably either make or break him. He’s gotten by with his talent, but his biggest issue is he doesn’t seem like he’s a very prepared individual. Seems like the kinda guy to just wing it, like he did at the combine. To be fair, it’s on him to stay in shape for the combine to. He knows what’s a stake. Part of me wants to believe he and his agents never even knew he was slated to go in the first round by the end of the season.
-MediocreJetsFan
On UDFA Kyron Brown:
Idk if this guy has a real shot of making the team but I am really rooting for him. Based on those quotes he seems like a level headed, great kid.
-whydoesgodhateus
On the expected rookie performance of Quinnen Williams:
I think some of that will depend on how Polite pans out
If Polite plays like he did in college it could make the entire D-line successful. Remember having several good players allows everyone to be better since they cant double one player without opening up another. Right now Leo gets a lot of doubles and Anderson has been getting the credit. Having several players all on the line at the same time can really abuse an offense. Look what the Rams did for 3 quarters against the Pats last year. If the offense had been able to stay on the field they would have won.

On Quinnen Williams’ potential:
Dude has all the makings
of the next Klecko. I hope I’m right about that.
