The Jets announced on Friday that they have waived three players, including cornerback Rashard Robinson.

Robinson was acquired at the trade deadline in 2017 from San Francisco for a fifth round pick. It was not a well-spent pick. The 49ers had given up on Robinson as a failed Draft pick. The Jets seemed to think they could turn his career around. They could not. He was benched during his first game in New York and saw only 2 more defensive snaps for the rest of 2017. He was arrested in December of 2017, which led to a four game suspension. He only saw 83 snaps on defense after his return. Any way you slice it this trade was a failure.
Coley and Tapper had very brief Jets careers. Both signed reserve/future contracts in January after ending the 2018 season without teams. Neither will even last long enough to make it to the start of their first Jets training camp.
