The New York Jets have traded Pick #93 and Pick #217 in the 2019 NFL draft to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for Pick #92. With Pick #92 the Jets offensive tackle Chuma Edoga out of USC.
Chuma Edoga is a 21 year old, 6’ 3”, 308 pound offensive tackle out of USC who has nimble feet and long arms. He is very athletic and excelled in pass protection while struggling a bit in run blocking. Edoga projects as the Jets’ left tackle of the future.
Pro Football Reference graded Edoga as the best pass protecting offensive tackle in the country in 2019:
Chuma Edoga, an athletic freak and USC’s primary right tackle for each of the past two seasons, allowed just four hurries across 304 pass-blocking snaps in 2018. With no sacks or hits allowed tied to his name, the 6-foot-3, 308-pound Edoga ranked tied for first in PFF’s pass-blocking efficiency (99.3).
Welcome to the Jets Chuma Edoga. The Green and White is happy to have you.
The Jets now have only two remaining picks in the 2019 NFL draft as follows:
Fourth Round: Pick #105
Fifth Round: None
Sixth Round: Pick #196
