The first round of the 2019 NFL Draft is now in the books. The newest member of the New York Jets is Quinnen Williams, the defensive lineman from Alabama. The team kept the third overall pick and went with Williams over Josh Allen and other prospects.
Today’s podcast is dedicated to discussing the pick. I think the selection of Williams was a pretty sound move. It was going to be difficult for the Jets to botch this pick outright. There were few directions the team could have gone that would have left me with no hope for this selection. Williams on paper looks like a very solid pick.
On the show I discuss some of the objections to the selection, and why I don’t agree with those objections. I will also talk about how Williams fits in with the team and expectations for the coming year along with thoughts on the first round for some of the other teams.
