2019 NFL Draft: Jets First Pick Should Be In By 8:30 PM

The 2019 NFL Draft begins tonight in Nashville, Tennessee. Because the Jets have such an early pick at #3 in this year’s draft, unless the Jets trade down the Jets first pick should be in no later than about 8:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

The Draft kicks off at 8:00 p.m. EDT, when the Arizona Cardinals will have ten minutes to decide whether to start over at quarterback, trade the pick, or take a defensive front line stud. After that point, teams will have ten minutes each to make their selections. For the Jets picking 3rd, that means the pick will be in no later than 8:30 p.m. EDT.

For those not particularly relishing the prospect of staying up late into the night to find out which player the Jets will add to their roster in the first round, the Jets’ difficult season in 2018 has a small silver lining - a potential early night in the first round.

Of course, if the Jets manage to achieve their goal of trading down, all bets are off and it could still be a late night. Regardless of what happens, the waiting finally ends and we all get to open our draft day presents from Mike Maccagnan beginning tonight.
