The Jets are starting the free agency period with the opposite of a splash. The team is re-signing backup center Jonotthan Harrison according to multiple beat writers.

Offensive line depth is very difficult to come by, but you have to actually look for it in order to find it. Year after year I find myself puzzled why the Jets are intent on retaining backups from weak offensive line units. These guys were below subpar starters on the depth chart.
Harrison got 8 starts in 2018 due to various injuries up front. He was an upgrade at center after taking over for Spencer Long, but that really doesn’t say much. I think it also makes people higher on Harrison than they really should be. You’ll have problems if he has to play for any extended period of time.
I am hoping the Jets bring in enough players with more upside to knock Harrison off the Week 1 roster.
