Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Some potentially solid veteran bargain players remain on the market, but free agency has slowed down quite a bit. The first few days are typically full of deals for staggering money. Then things get much quieter.
If you go off the board in the first few days, it is generally because some team made you an offer you can’t refuse. If you remain available after that, odds are you didn’t get the kind of offer you were hoping to get. And odds are that offer would have already been made if it was ever going to happen. Many of these second tier free agents will need to accept the deal they wanted is not going to become a reality. It could take days, weeks, or months for some to come to terms with that.
