Jets free agency rumors, news, and live updates 3/16

NFL: Combine Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

We move into the first weekend of NFL free agency. Players continue to find new homes.

The top names are now almost all off the board. Teams are now looking at stopgaps, role players, and value signings. ESPN put out a list of the top fifteen players still available yesterday. While none of those players will serve as a long-term solution, a number play premium positions where the Jets are currently weak. The team still has a lot of salary cap space at its disposal to make additional signings so there could still be some logical fits out there.

Friday was largely quiet for the Jets aside from the signing of former and future kicker Chandler Catanzaro. After one season away in Tampa and Carolina, Catanzaro returns to take Jason Myers’ job.
