The new league year has begun in the NFL. Teams can now officially sign free agents from other teams to contracts.
Much of the negotiating is done, however, and many of the big names unofficially came off the board during the legal tampering period which began Monday.
After the agony of losing Anthony Barr and Matt Paradis and the ecstasy of landing Le’Veon Bell, Wednesday was fairly quiet. The Jets lost a couple of their special teams Pro Bowlers as Jason Myers and Andre Roberts found new homes.
The Jets brought back reserve linebacker and special teamer Neville Hewitt.
The team still has quite a bit of work to do. The offensive line still requires upgrades, and the foundational positions on defense are barren. The Jets are going to need to continue to work the market to find solutions.
