Now that we got our major pieces in FA (maybe we add a cb post this article, maybe not), here's what I want to happen leading up to and during the draft:
Trade Darron Lee and our 3rd from NOLA to Cincinatti (desperate for ILB help and like Lee) for their 2nd.
Round 1: trade down with Giants for pick 6 and pick 17
AZ pick 1 - Kyler Murray, QB, OU
SF pick 2 - Nick Bosa, DE, OSU
NYG pick 3 - Dwayne Haskins, QB, OSU
OAK pick 4 - Quinnen Williams, DT, Bama
TB pick 5 - Josh Allen, EDGE, Kentucky
NYJ select - Montez Sweat, EDGE, Mississippi State
Pick 17 (or maybe trade down again) - Hakeem Butler, WR, Iowa State - yes, I like him slightly better than Nkeal Harry and yes don't want to risk a team in the back of round 1 or top 10 in round 2 to snag.
Round 2 pick 11 (from bengals) - Elgton Jenkins, C, Mississippi State - My favorite center in a while, hopefully he doesn't go at the top of round 2
Round 3 pick 5 - Jamel Dean, CB, Auburn - 6'2 CB who specifically accels in press man coverage which is a perfect fit as an outside cb for Greg Williams. Also best CB combine, rises from day 3 to day 2.
Round 4 - Khalen Saunders, DT, Western Illinois - plus and play nose who flashed at senior bowl and is super athletic for his size. Poor man's Dontari Poe
Round 6 - Max Scharping, OT, NIU - Rather dart throw on a dominant small school guy than mediocre big school guy
Round 7 - Isaiah Johnson, CB, Houston - Assuming we don't sign another CB, this will be our weakest position. Johnson has all the measurables you look for but coming off a diappointing senior season, but has the size and speed and worth trying to coach up
