On the prospect of trading for Von Miller:

Von

With the rumors of Von being on the trade block, I wonder if Elway would consider #3 for Von and #10. Realistically, what Elway would have to give up to go from 10 to 3, would be more then what he could get if he trade Von directly for picks.

On the greatness of Jamal Adams:

So glad we drafted Jamal in 2017.

He’s not only a great player, he genuinely cares about the team getting better and winning a championship. Someone who is here for more than a paycheck.

-Jets Mets Devils Nets 16

On how much he’s looking forward to Macc assembling the roster:

Just for a point of reference

Its negative 54 degrees here in Iowa today. It was less painful starting my car this morning, than thinking of macc being in control of the number 3 pick, 100 mil in cap space, and the guy responsible for assembling talent around Sam Darnold.

On why we should sign Bell:

If we aren’t a super bowl contender until 2021 that means Sam is bad

I’m not making moves based on the worst possible outcome. Best case outcome is Sam has a Wentz/Goff type rise and that means that we’re building a contender right away. Sam’s rookie deal has 4 years left. Based on the league as laid out now the time to win championships is on rookie deals or with aging HOF QBs. That means that Bell’s window falls perfectly into our window. Pay.The.Man.

On the Loggains hire:

Loggains was a brilliant hire

If the offense sucks, we can blame him. If it’s good, we can trick somebody into hiring him as a head coach and weaken another team for 3-4 years.

-Ivan_Homeless

On the state of the Jets fanbase:

Jet fans are depressed when the team isn’t playing...

And frequently even more depressed when the team IS playing.

-Joe Phlipsak

On what it takes to win it all:

Some things that seem like must haves to win (without the Bill and Brady hue of greatness)-A shut down corner-A versatile TE-A gadget/widget player-A competent QB-A coach who gets it-OLine that can hold of just long enough so the QB can throw-DLine that can penetrate just enough to scramble the fight or flight response

-xPhilthyX

On what plays should be added to the playbook:

Can we just steal the plays that the Pats use to get Edelman wide open on every third down? I like that play.

-Ponti

On Spencer Long being released:

Sam was like, “Dude, I don’t want to be that guy but… I need a center that can snap me the ball.”

-Crackback

On the track record of Bill Belichick’s coaching tree:

Bill Belichick coaching tree is more like a brush fire.
