Good morning, GGN! I hope everyone’s having a great start to their day. The Patriots laid waste to the Rams in the Super Bowl yesterday — also known as the three most boring hours of my life. Can’t recall a SB game that was so bad, even in other low scoring affairs. To make matters worse, to celebrate 50 years the NFL had the Jets’ own Joe Namath hand over the trophy to the Patriots. That’s one way to put a nail in my coffin. The Rams defense played what I thought was a great game, but a defense can only stay on the field for so long before they start to bend a bit. Julian Edelman was uncoverable, and deservedly won the SB MVP award. Goff reassured my belief that he benefits from system and players, because he looked like a rookie in that game yesterday. I don’t think he’s a guy you can rely on to lift the team up, and Gurley just not being present only magnified his inefficiencies. Still envious of both teams and the position of their franchises regardless, though. Kind of ruffled over the SB weekend was the fact that our own former center Kevin Mawae was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame — an honor that he definitely deserved. Kevin was always a player I enjoyed watching, and his demeanor on and off the field are parallel to some of the greats. He’s made huge contributions to players, and I’m sure Curtis Martin appreciates a lot of the help Kevin gave him during their years together on the Jets. The definition of a true professional, it was a pleasure watching him play at an elite level and I’m glad to see him rewarded for his efforts. With that being said, here are your links to the Jets this Monday.
