What is happening Tuesday at the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine?

NFL: Super Bowl LIII Experience Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

Today is the first day of the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Well, it is sort of the first day.

From the perspective of the fan, there isn’t going to be much excitement. We won’t get any data on the players until tomorrow, and on field drills do not begin until Friday. Today is the day players start arriving, however.

Players arrive on different days based on their position. Today is arrival day for kickers, other special teamers, offensive linemen, and running backs.

These players will register, have pre-exams at the hospital, x-rays, overflow tests, orientation, and interviews.

These activities have importance in the scouting process for NFL teams. Fans just won’t receive the information. This stuff also doesn’t make for great television so there will be no broadcast.

When on field activities begin in a few days, we will get to see the action play out on live TV.
