2019 Pre Combine Wild Mock Draft

With the combine just around the corner lets try and look into the future and predict what the fall-out of all those drills and measurements have on the draft. With teams as we speak trying to formulate a plan to out do the rest of the league the Jets are lucky that all they need to do is look here and they will be on the road to supremacy.

We "Jet" ahead into the future and mock us some draft

With the first pick in the 2019 NFL draft (don't I sound just like Roger Goodell) The Arizona Cardnials select

1) Arizona - Nick Bosa DE Ohio st

Bosa along with Chandler Jones gives Arizona one of the best young set of edge rusher in the NFL. Cliff Kingsbury can device some offense but a strong pass rush will help keep the need to a managible numbers.

2) San Fran - Quinnen Williams Alabama

With a (hopefully) potent offense manned by Jimmy coming back, the Niners look to help a stacked defensive line from the inside. With Armstead and Thomas on the outside Williams replaces Earl Mitchell to team with DeForest Buckner to form the best young defensive line in the NFL. This takes the pressure off of Jimmy coming back from injury to have to light it up every week and the pressure should cause more turnovers and shorter fields.

Trade !!!

The New York Jets Trade the #3 pick in the 2019 NFL Draft to the Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jets receive the 7th pick along with #38, #179 and the Jags 1st round selection in the 2020 NFL draft

3) Jacksonville - Kyler Murray QB Oklahoma

Murray tears up the combine and leaves many GM's wondering if they could fit a small QB into their system. The NFL is changing and Jacksonville is taking the step it needs to keep up.

Jacksonviile Then trades Blake Bortles to Oakland for pick #142 and John Gruden says there will be a competition in the preseason to see who is the starter.

Maenwhile Jacksonville finally realized two things

1) Blake Bortes was a mistake and will never lead them to a Super Bowl

2) This team is talented but easily fractured; they need hope. The type of hope a young dynamic talent can bring to the team. With the window closing on this young team, Jacksonville goes all in.

4) Oakland - Josh Allen OLB/DE

The raiders traded Khalil Mack last year for picks and ended up with 13 sacks on the year; 13 SACKS ON THE YEAR in 16 games. Khalil Mack only played in 14 games and had 12 1/2 sacks; even if you put Mack back with Oakland and combined their sacks they still would have had the fewest sacks in the league at 25 1/2, The Dolphins were second worst with 32 sacks. This is a no brainer.

5) Tampa Bay - Jonah Williams OT

Williams is the safest pick in the eyes of the Bucs (I don't agree) and he fills a need with Demar Dotson at age 33 and in the last year of his contract.

6) N Y Giants - Dwayne Haskins QB

The Giants know that the Eli train will soon pull into it's last depot. Haskins may have a year ( or half a year) to sit back and learn from a 2 time Super Bowl champion.

Trade !!!

Yes Maccagnan does the unthinkable and trades back again this time with the Green Bay Packers.

The Jets receive #12, #44, #110 plus a 2020 3rd round pick for the jets #7 and #94 in the 2019 Draft

7) Green Bay - T.J. Hockenson TE

Green bay has gotten almost nothing from their TE position, Jimmy Graham was a bust and will be cut. Hockenson is so smooth with plus hands that Green Bay couldn't wait to see if he would be available. Detroit was said to be eyeing Hockenson so Green bay had to make a move to get the guy they desired.

8) Detroit - Rashan Gary DE

Detroit was hoping for Hockenson but was undercut by Green Bay. With Matt Patricia as Head coach he sees no problem of adding a steller DE to the mix after the debacle of 2018. Gary has the size that Patricia likes.

9) Buffalo Bills- D. K. Metcalf WR

The Bill's were adding one of the highest rated WR"s in the draft and a new tool for their huge QB in Josh Allen.

10) Denver - Drew Lock QB

Elway seems to like Lock and he can take over as soon as Denver realizes that Joe Flacco is really Joe Flacco.

11) Cincinnati - Ed Oliver DT

The Defense in the queen city has deteriorated to a horrible level. Cici is thrilled to get a top 5 talent at #11

12) NY Jets - Cody Ford Oklahoma OT/G

Ford could be a great RT or an All-Pro type left guard and be a starter from day one. A big, mean, nasty road grader in the run game and a brick wall in pass protection Ford is a plug and play draft pick who will be a leader on the offensive line for more than a decade.

The Rest of the Jets Draft

38) Yodny Cajuste - West Virginia OT

A powerful tackle with plus movement skills, he is not a finished product but he can man the right side of the line if Snell is unable to start the season and can move to the left side to replace an aging Beeahum who has had injury concerns in the past.

44) Garrett Bradbury - NC st OC

The Jets are thrilled to see Bradbury still available and pick him up quickly. Bradbury has plus movement skills and has a high footbal IQ. He is a massive upgrade at center from day one and has Pro Bowl potential as early as year two.

68) Michael Deiter - Wisconsin OG/OC

Jets fans around the world pass out from total amazement as Mike Maccagnan picks his 4th offensive lineman in a row. This time it is a versatile, powerful offensive lineman who has plus movement skills and has played all across the offensive line. He will provide a quality backup at center as well as be our starting right guard. This gives the Jets a young, powerful interior offensive line for that will grow together and protect Sam for the next decade plus.

106) Khalen Saunders - Western Illinois DT

A superior athletic tackle who can play the shade 1 tech in Greg Williams system. Sign Grady Jarrett and put Saunders next to him and the interior line will be penetrating the pocket like never before.

110) Michael Jackson - Miami CB

Jackson is a big (6' 1" 200 lbs) corner with speed, strength and good hips. His long arms will help in knocking down passes and in press coverage. He can play off the ball in cover 3 or man up as a press corner in Greg Williams different defenses.

141) Elijah Holyfield - Georgia RB

A strong, powerful bellcow RB with plus vision and low milage due to the aboundance of talent at Georgia. He wil need to work on catching the football but gives the Jets a quick, elusive RB who can gain yardage not blocked for him and will rarely lose yardage.

179) Emmanuel Butler - Northern Arizona WR

A big kid (6' 4" 220 lbs) with wheels who had great production in college and gives Sam a big target to throw to.

219) Koron Crump - Arizona st OLB

A sack expert in college who had an injury then lost his role on his team when they switched coaches. He is fast and a natural football player who will be a demon on the specialty teams and a 3rd down LB.

Plus the Jets have an extra 2020 1st and 3rd round picks

There you have it a draft for the ages and you know that it will NEVER happen

A Jet fan can dream though...
