2 Offseason Trades and The Jets end up with NFL's Most Improved Roster

I'm so excited at this particular offseason that I will do another one of these pre combine: Spotrac was used for cap/FA. first-pick used for the draft

Brian Winters - saves $6.5M

Jordan Jenkins and our 5th Rounder to the Pittsburgh Steelers for Antonio Brown - The Steelers are going to get to a point where they can take what they can get from a player who is definitely not returning to Pittsburgh on good terms. Jordan Jenkins is a 3-4 outside linebacker whose improved every year and can add depth or perhaps level up into a solid starter for Steelers Defense as he enters into his prime. Jenkins may be odd man out in NY's new 4-3 defense.

Robby Anderson - 2nd round - Pittsburgh picks up 2nd round tender and takes on Robby Anderson who is a similar player to AB but younger and full of potential. Pittsburgh knows it could bring the best out of receivers and may just miss out on the top group towards the end of round 2. Robby and Juju make a dynamic 1-2 for the Steelers moving forward.

Cap - $91M

Jason Myers, K - 4 year 3M/year

Andre Roberts, WR/KR - 2 year 2.5M/ year

Jonnothan Harrison, C/G - 1 year 890k

Frankie Luvu EDGE/DE - 1 year 550k

Doug Middleton ERFA Tender - 690k

Neal Sterling, TE - 1 year - 750K

Eric Tomlinson, TE - 1 year - 980K

Free Agency:

Big Signings - We happen to have our biggest needs be the strongest in free agency, I say we double down on both lines. After the QB, games are won and lost in the trenches.

Frank Clark, DE, 6 year - 20M/year w/ $75M total guaranteed (12 against cap) - Will be best pass rusher on market if he hits and only 25. Should be top priority if he hits the market. We give him a monster contract and build our defense around him.

Trey Flowers, DE, 4 year - 15M/year w/ half guaranteed (7.5 against cap) - After Frank Clark, we give everyone else half guaranteed deals. Half for the past and half for the present, this way they can play up to the full contracts they want as long as they hit reasonable performance metrics. Not only is Trey coming on and can potentially be a stud we get at a slight discount, but we're stealing him from the enemy.

Trent Brown, LT, 4 year - 14M/year w/ half guaranteed (7 against cap) - Brown is my 1A in free agency. Signing him if he hits the market will eliminate the immediate need to draft Jonah Williams and gives the Jets flexibility to trade down for more picks in the draft. Plus another one stolen from the enemy.

Rodger Saffold, OG, 3 year - 12M/year w/ half guaranteed (6 against cap) - We need to fill 3 holes total on the interior offensive line, let's spend the money to put a top player at his position in at one of the guard spots. Now the whole left side of the line is pro bowl calibur

Steven Nelson, CB, 5 year 9.5M/year half guaranteed - One of the shining spots of Kansas City's defense and more breakout potential than Darby or Roby

Mid Level Signings - We fill other needs now that aren't so glaring

Mitch Morse, C/G, 2 year bandaid deal - 7M/year w/ 10M total guaranteed - I prefer signing a Center who can play guard so depending on who falls to us in the draft, we could go best lineman available.

Mark Ingram, HB, 2 year draft insurance deal - 7M/year w/ 5M guaranteed

New Cap Number: $36M

Positions of Need Going Into Draft: G/C, ILB, DT, CB, HB, WR

Round 1 Pick 1 - Arizona stuns by going Quinnen Williams over Nick Bosa, after an elite offseason combine from Williams and Bosa sitting out due to injury, he falls from the top of the board

Round 1 Pick 2 - San Francisco TRADES DOWN with Tampa Bay Buccaneers and picks up their 2nd rounder, 3rd rounder and 1st next year.

Tampa Bay selects Kyler Murray, QB, Oklahoma

Round 1 Pick 3 - New York Jets TRADES DOWN with Green Bay Packers and picks up their round 1 pick 12, round 1 pick 30, round 2 pick 12 and their 2020 2nd round pick

Green Bay selects Nick Bosa. Green Bay misses out on the Khalil Mack auction but makes sure to make up for it by trading for the most dynamic pass rusher in the best class of pass rushers to come out in a decade.

Round 1 Pick 12 - New York Jets select - Devin White, LB, LSU - Best linebacker to come out in a long time, scouts are comparing to Patrick Willis and Luke Kuechley. Devin White immediately comes in to be our Mike and pushes Williamson to Sam with Lee at our Will.

Round 1 Pick 30 - N'Keal Harry, WR, Arizona State - Once thought of as the top receiver in the draft, but with stiff competition from a few wrs who want to be top of the class, may fall to late first/early 2nd. Great size, athleticism and production, him and AB make the perfect 1-2 punch with Enunwa in the slot.

Round 2 Pick 12 - Josh Jacobs, RB, Alabama - After last years rookie turnout, I'm predicting running backs will fall in the 2019 draft, none going in round 1. After Benny Snell surprisingly goes before Jacobs in the early 2nd, The Jets get lucky and get the top running back right before the teens of round 2.

Round 2 Pick 20 (via Pittsburgh in Robby tender) - Elgton Jenkins, C/OG, Mississippi State - The Jets land the best Center in the draft, now Mitch Morse can immediately move out to right guard

Round 3 Pick 3 - Lonnie Johnson Jr, CB, Kentucky - a tall corner with strong cover skills moving up draft boards and now looking like a day 2 pick. This is a big boost to our CB depth, especially after adding Steve Nelson.

Round 3 Pick 29 - Khalen Saunders, DT Western Illinois - The most athletic Defensive Tackle in the class, his backflips video and senior bowl get him from off the radar to a late day 2 pick. But if he also blows up the combine he can maybe sneak into round 1.

Round 4 Pick 3 - Terrone Prescod, OG, NC State - The most slept on guard in the draft. Garrett Bradbury gets all the shine yet Prescod was the highest pff graded player on NC State's OL. If he's still on the board here, he may even give Mitch Morse a run for the starting spot.

Round 7 Pick 3 - Hunter Renfrow, WR, Clemson - a small undersized small school player that always seems to get open and make plays even on the biggest stages. If available in the 7th we take a shot on him to be our Julian Edelman/Chris Hogan type player

New Jets Depth Chart:
