On the Offensive coaching staff:
I like the Jim Bob Cooter hire....wow rb coach is some title for a rising OC a few years ago.
JBC was Broncos offensive asst. in 2013 when Gase was OC. Gase remained another year while JBC went on to become Lions QB coach and then OC over the next 4 years. Loggains hooked up with Gase in 2015 as QB coach while Gase was HC. Gase left while Bilbo remained until he was fired. They reunited in Miami in 2018 and have now traveled together to the Jets. Interesting web Gase is building. Takeaways- I’d love the Jets success lead to JBC and Loggains getting poached for HC positions in the coming years. -Gase is OC, Loggains is OC, JBC could be OC. That’s a lot of cooks. -the run game should see a significant uptick with a fairly high profile name as rb coach cough leveon bell cough

On the new coaching staff:
Really like this staff
I know Gase wasn’t the most popular choice, but there’s a lot of great experience from top to bottom. Considering the QB Things might be looking more positive than they have in a long time, though it may take a couple years to come together pending drafts/Macc FA signings

On Eric Decker’s comments about Gases’ tendency to curse:
A coach who curses? I’m shocked

On the need for a top receiving threat for Sam:
While this would be awesome to watch,
It isn’t our #1 skill position priority. We need to get a go-to receiver for Sam. While bell and Coleman are talented 2 way backs, neither of them can be Darnold’s number one option. Which is why I will say again what I have been saying. We trade WAY down to pick 11 for AJ Green. This would work for both sides of the deal. The Bengals want to move on from Andy Dalton (reportedly) and would be eager to jump the likes of Denver, Jacksonville, Oakland, and the Giants to draft a quarterback. This trade would be great for us because we would get a #1 receiver for Darnold, and most mock drafts have either clelin ferrel or montez sweat still available at pick 11. I hope we also sign bell and Coleman too though, but it’s all up to Mac to get this offseason right.

On Gase’s coaching record:
I wanted Monken myself
but I think Gase is a better coach than his record with the Dolphins indicates. If he was a as bad as some people think, why would an HOF QB go out of his way to endorse Gase as one of the smartest and best coaches he’s ever worked with? And I think the regard for Gase among the NFL coaching fraternity is reflected in the quality of his staff, which is worlds better than any of Bowles’ staffs. So I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and am optimistic about the coming season.

On pro comparisons to Dk Metcalf and Aj Brown:
Metcalf definitely has potential but he will be hurt his whole career. His body doesn’t look like it’s made to be an NFL receiver and he hasn’t played a healthy season yet. I don’t know why his teammate isn’t getting more attention, AJ Brown will be the best receiver in this class. It reminds me of the Sammy Watkins and DeAndre Hopkins situation. Watkins has all the potential but cant stay on the field, while Hopkins does everything above average but it overshadowed by his teammate. Brown has a good frame, very productive despite different and terrible QB play, has break away speed, good route runner. I really hope we somehow trade down and get him.

On the snowy weather:
A sunny day was RCR’s breakout weather event.
-John B
On the qualities the Jets need in a backup QB:
I want the backup to be terrible. We’re not primed to make a run with a backup QB. Therefore if Sam goes down for an extended amount of time, I want the losses to pile up fast and furiously.
-Crackback
On the Bills signing Spencer Long:
Well thank you Bills from stopping us from resigning that mess.
-GangGreenRCR
On which team should be featured on Hard Knocks:
They should put the Patriots on it. Would probably catch them doing something dodgy.
