I’m not sure there’s much to talk about on the defense and special teams. Those units were excellent for the Jets in 2019, and those coaches deserve to stay.
The offense is a bit of a different story. That unit was one of the league’s worst in 2019. I believe that sometimes coaches can have bad seasons. I also believe that coaches can improve over time. If the Jets aren’t going to make any changes to the offensive coaching staff it doesn’t necessarily resign them to the same fate next season. I do hope the coaches on the offense will spend the spring and summer reassessing what went wrong for their unit in 2019. If the personnel on the coaching staff isn’t different, the way they conduct business in a number of areas will need to change.
