Today is known as Black Monday in NFL. The day after the regular season ends is difficult for those in the coaching and management professions in the league. This is the day teams most frequently make firings.
Some teams like Carolina and Washington made firings before the season ended. The Browns announced the dismissal of Freddie Kitchens last night after their loss to the Bengals. More firings are likely coming.
Barring something unforeseen, the Jets will not be making a change with their head coach, but that does not mean everybody is safe. Assistant coaches could be on their way out. Most years are met with some sort of shakeup on the coaching staff. Those announcements might be delayed for days or weeks, but we might get some Jets news today.
