Well it’s come to this: The season began with a matchup between the Jets and Bills, and now it will end with one. The first matchup ending up being prophetic, as the Jets came out roaring before injuries and poor coaching caused them to collapse and the Bills defense tightened up. This all led up to a 16-point comeback victory that jumpstarted a powerful Bills team and began the ruination of the Jets season. Now these teams meet again with nothing to play for, no stakes, and nothing but bold predictions to keep us interested.
Disclaimer: Bold Predictions are not realistic expectations for the game, but rather something that is unlikely to happen, yet possible. These predictions are both pro-Jets and stretch the boundaries of probability. Claiming that Sam Darnold throws a touchdown pass is not a Bold Prediction, nor is claiming that Sam Darnold throws 20 touchdown passes. These predictions must be within the bounds of possibility, but also highly improbable. As always, the final score prediction remains a realistic guess at the result of the game and does not relate to the Bold Predictions.
Here are my five bold predictions for today’s game:
- Three Jets record a touchdown and 50 yards receiving.
- Two Jets record at least two sacks each.
- The Bills are held to under 200 yards of total offense.
- The Jets average 9 yards per play.
- Sam Darnold posts a perfect passer rating against the vaunted Bills defense.
Final Score: Jets 13, Bills 21
And a bonus prediction: Josh Allen and Sam Darnold’s draft situation is not mentioned.
