Week 16 of the 2019 NFL season continues with four late afternoon games.
In perhaps the best of the late afternoon games, the 7-7 Philadelphia Eagles host the 7-7 Dallas Cowboys in a game for first place in the sad sack NFC East. The Eagles are riding a modest two game winning streak, their longest winning streak of the season, albeit one achieved against the lowly New York Giants and Washington Redskins. Meanwhile the Cowboys have not won back to back games since the first week of November. These are two middling teams who don’t belong in the playoffs, but one of these teams will emerge as NFC East champions.
Elsewhere in late afternoon games, the 4-9-1 Arizona Cardinals visit the 11-3 Seattle Seahawks in a game the Seahawks must win to keep pace with the San Francisco 49ers for the NFC West crown; the 6-8 Oakland Raiders take on the 5-9 Los Angeles Chargers in a battle to keep out of the AFC West cellar; and the 5-9 Denver Broncos host the 3-10-1 Detroit Lions in a matchup of bottom feeders.
Enjoy the games everybody. Use this thread to comment on whichever late afternoon games catch your fancy.
