Monday Night Football, Week 15. Tonight the New Orleans Saints host the Indianapolis Colts in the Big Easy.
The Saints come into this game off a tough loss to the San Francisco 49ers last week in a wild 48 - 46 shootout. That game left the Saints a game behind the 49ers and with the head to head competition in the 49ers favor in the race for a first round bye in the NFC playoffs. However, as luck would have it, the 49ers were upset this week, pulling the Saints into a four way tie with the 49ers, the Seahawks and the Packers atop the NFC standings, each team having three losses. A win tonight is vital for the Saints’ hopes for a first round bye.
The Colts come into this game in a tailspin, losers of five of their last six games. The retirement of Andrew Luck has turned what seemed like a real shot at a Super Bowl before this season began into a descent into mediocrity. At 6-7, the Colts are still clinging to faint hopes of a wild card berth in the AFC playoffs. A loss tonight would extinguish those hopes.
It’s the Saints and the Colts in a game that has playoff implications for both teams, tonight on Monday Night Football.
Enjoy the game everybody.
