Week 15 Early Games Open Thread

Week 15 of the 2019 NFL season continues with eight early afternoon games.

Perhaps the best of the eight games has the 8-5 Tennessee Titans hosting the 8-5 Houston Texans with first place in the AFC South on the line. The surging Titans have won six of their last seven games. The surge coincides with Ryan Tannehill replacing Marcus Mariota as starting quarterback for the Titans. In a remarkable mid career renaissance, Tannehill is somehow leading the NFL in passer rating and has lead three game winning drives in the seven games he has started this season. Tannehill will be facing off against the always dangerous Deshaun Watson, who is having another outstanding year for the Texans. The Texans have been locked in a weird three game cycle in which they win two games, then lose one, all season. They lost last week, so if the random pattern holds (not that it has any real significance), the Texans are due to win today and next week before dropping the season finale to this same Titans team.

Elsewhere the 10-3 Seattle Seahawks take on the 5-8 Carolina Panthers; the 3-9-1 Detroit Lions host the 6-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers; the 5-8 Denver Broncos visit the 9-4 Kansas City Chiefs; the 2-11 New York Giants welcome the 3-10 Miami Dolphins to MetLife Stadium in a battle for draft position; the 3-10 Washington Redskins host the 6-7 Philadelphia Eagles in a must win game for the division leading Eagles; the 1-12 Cincinnati Bengals seek to exploit the suddenly vulnerable 10-3 New England Patriots in what would be a massive upset; and the 7-6 Chicago Bears seek to play spoiler while keeping their miniscule playoff hopes alive at Lambeau Field against the division leading 10-3 Green Bay Packers.

Enjoy the games everybody. Use this thread to comment on whichever early afternoon games catch your fancy.
