Sunday Night Football, Week 15. Tonight the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Buffalo Bills in a battle of wild card contenders.

The 8-5 Steelers come into this game red hot, winners of three straight and seven of their last eight games. Four of the Steelers’ five losses this season have come against the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers. Those four teams could easily wind up being the last four teams standing in the the NFL playoffs this year. If the Steelers want to join them in the playoffs, beating the Bills tonight will go a long way towards securing a wild card berth.

The 9-4 Bills come into this game off of a tough loss last week to the Baltimore Ravens. The Bills still have a slight chance of winning the AFC East and dethroning the perennial AFC East champion New England Patriots. Failing that, a win tonight against the Steelers will clinch a wild card berth for the Bills. It would be their second playoff run in three years after missing out on the fun for each of the prior seventeen straight seasons. That kind of progress is something the Jets hope to begin showing after their own run of nine straight playoff free seasons.

It’s the Steelers and the Bills in a game with major playoff implications for both teams in an AFC showdown on Sunday Night Football. Enjoy the game everybody.
