Jets Helmet Stickers: Week 14

NFL: Miami Dolphins at New York Jets Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets just managed to pull out a win against the hapless Dolphins, but it still feels good to be in the win column after a miserable defeat to the Bengals. We should enjoy this game while we can considering that the Jets will be facing the red hot Ravens on a short week next. So let’s revel in our successes while we can:

Bronze Star: Jordan Jenkins (4 tackles, 2 sacks)

Jordan Jenkins is never going to be an elite pass rusher, but you have to appreciate the effort he puts into every play. He tallied 4 tackles and added 2 sacks to raise his season total to 7, giving him a shot to go for double digits for the first time in his career. As per usual with his sacks, he didn’t really beat his man badly, but collected the coverage sack for the Jets when no one else could manage it. He’s been mostly consistent as an edge setter and his occasional penchant for disruptive plays makes him somewhat of an asset on the edge.

Silver Star: Nate Hairston (1 tackle, 2 PDs, 1 INT)

Hairston has been up and down this season, but this was one of the better games in his career. He held up with reasonably good coverage through most of the game, breaking up a couple of passes while holding his receivers mostly in check. His interception was also the only turnover the Jets could force despite a few fumbled balls from Fitzpatrick and a Sherels bobble. He made a solid impact in this game.

Gold Star: Robby Anderson (7 catches for 116 yards, 1 rush for 4 yards, 1 TD)

Robby is the ultimate boom or bust player, but he’s been mostly boom recently. After 5 straight games with under 50 yards, he’s gone for 303 yards over the last 3 games. He was essentially all of the Jets offense in this game, as Sam Darnold struggled and very few other contributors stepped up. Fortunately for the Jets, Robby was up to the task, accounting for 120 total yards and a touchdown.

So there you have it, fourteen weeks in and the table stands:

Jamal Adams 16 points (4 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze)

Le’Veon Bell 10 points (2 gold, 2 silver)

Sam Darnold 7 points (2 gold, 1 bronze)

Ryan Griffin 6 points (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze)

Brian Poole 5 points (2 silver, 1 bronze)

Folorunso Fatukasi 4 points (1 gold, 1 bronze)
