Starting cornerback Darryl Roberts missed practice on Thursday with a calf injury. Short on cornerbacks, the Jets have activated rookie Bless Austin.
We have activated DB Bless Austin and waived LB BJ Bello.

Austin was a surprising sixth round pick by the Jets in this year’s Draft. The reason it was such a surprise was he suffered two ACL tears in his final two years of college.
The Jets’ cornerback situation is currently a land of opportunity for young players. With no established players at the position, playing time is up for grabs. If Austin is fully healthy, the Jets might as well get him as many snaps as possible. After missing so much time, he could use the game experience. Maybe he can even surprise us.
In better news, it sounds like Le’Veon Bell’s MRI from Monday has positive news. He returned to the practice field today and sounds on track to suit up Sunday.
Below is the full injury report from Thursday.
