Week 9 of the 2019 NFL season continues with four late afternoon games.
The 2-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers make the long trip west to take on the 6-2 Seattle Seahawks in a game of haves vs have nots. Russell Wilson is having another magnificent season as the Seahawks offense has replaced the defense as the team’s strength.
In other late afternoon action, the 3-4 Oakland Raiders battle the 3-3-1 Detroit Lions in the Mediocrity Bowl. The Raiders are better than expected but still probably not good enough to make the playoffs in Jon Gruden’s second season. In Denver a struggling Baker Mayfield and his 2-5 Cleveland Browns compadres try to elevate their game in Rocky Mountain country against the rudderless 2-6 Denver Broncos. And in Los Angeles a floundering 3-5 Chargers team hosts the 7-1 first place Green Bay Packers, led by a resurgent Aaron Rodgers. If you looked at the scedule prior to the season this game stood out as potentially one of the best games of the year. Now, it’s looking like a mismatch, though the trip to the west coast tends to be an equalizer at times for upset minded west coast teams.
Enjoy the games everybody. Use this thread to comment on whichever late afternoon games catch your fancy.
