NFL London: Texans vs Jaguars Game Thread

All you football junkies who love the weeks when we get NFL football from early morning through nearly midnight, rise and shine. It’s time for NFL football, London edition. Today we have the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars squaring off in Merry Old England.

These two teams met in Week 2, with the Texans squeaking out a 13-12 nail biter at home. That game was the first career start for Jaguars rookie quarterback Gardner Minshew. At the time he was a little known sixth round draft pick. What a difference a few weeks make. Minshew has become something of a sensation, far exceeding expectations on the field as he has led the Jaguars to four wins in their last six games while posting a 99 passer rating. Nobody expected this kind of success this early for the young Jaguars quarterback, but here we are, an unlikely quarterback controversy brewing in Jacksonville with former starter Nick Foles nearly ready to return from injury.

The Texans come into this game with a 5-3 record, good for second place in the AFC South. Winners of three of their last four games, the Texans feature an explosive offense led by young quarterback sensation Deshaun Watson. The Texans have averaged a red hot 33.5 points per game over their last four games.

The Jaguars don’t score like the Texans, but their defense is rounding into shape lately. The Jaguars defense has limited opponents to 17 or less points in each of their last three games. This sets up a classic high flying offense versus tough, stingy defense dynamic in London.

It’s the Jaguars and the Texans to start your day. Enjoy the game everybody.
