Jets vs. Dolphins: Five Bold Predictions

NFL: New York Jets at Miami Dolphins Steve Mitchell-USA TODAY Sports

Finally we’ve come to a game in which I could possibly get one of these predictions to stick. In what may be the worst game of the season, the Jets are finally expected to win against a Miami Dolphins team that is clearly looking to rebuild. With that in mind, let’s go really bold this week.

Disclaimer: Bold Predictions are not realistic expectations for the game, but rather something that is unlikely to happen, yet possible. These predictions are both pro-Jets and stretch the boundaries of probability. Claiming that Sam Darnold throws a touchdown pass is not a Bold Prediction, nor is claiming that Sam Darnold throws 20 touchdown passes. These predictions must be within the bounds of possibility, but also highly improbable. As always, the final score prediction remains a realistic guess at the result of the game and does not relate to the Bold Predictions.

Here are my five bold predictions for today’s game:

  • No Dolphins player records 50 yards from scrimmage.
  • Every Jets running back scores a touchdown.
  • Sam Darnold posts a 150+ passer rating.
  • Four Jets record a sack.
  • Le’Veon Bell records his first 100+ yard rushing day by going for over 200 yards.

Final Score: Jets 23, Dolphins 17

And a bonus prediction: The Jets score a special teams touchdown.
