Jets Helmet Stickers: Week 11

New, comments
NFL: New York Jets at Washington Redskins Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports

It’s been a rough year for helmet stickers, which is something I’m pretty used to at this point. This week, the Jets have a lot of good to great performances to put on the list, in no small part due to the weakness of their opponent. Nevertheless, you play the teams on your schedule, and these players played them well.

Bronze Star: Sam Darnold (19 of 30 for 293 yards, 4 TDs, 1 INT)

I’m happy to say that Darnold is back on the list due to a solid performance. You’d imagine a 4 touchdown game would earn a top spot on this list, but the Redskins defense was a train wreck and unfortunately Darnold had a boneheaded interception once again. Despite that, Darnold threw for 4 touchdowns and nearly 300 yards, which is an extremely good performance in a game that quickly became a laugher. Hopefully these last two weeks will be good for Darnold’s confidence moving forward. We must also hope that he maintains this level of play once the Jets go up against a quality defense again.

Silver Star: Ryan Griffin (5 catches for 109 yards, 1 TD)

Griffin has been inconsistent and his blocking leaves a lot to be desired, but he somehow continually takes over games. He went off for over 100 yards and a touchdown against a Redskins offense that couldn’t stop a cold. He was mostly uncovered during the game, but he made the plays you’d hope for from your tight end, and what more can you really ask for? I can’t explain it, but he now sits near the top of the stickers list.

Gold Star: Jamal Adams (4 tackles, 3 sacks)

Adams has just been dominant over the last two weeks. In this game, Adams tallied 3 sacks against a beleaguered Redskins offensive line. In his limited rush attempts, Adams’ production was out of control. The Redskins did not look like an NFL caliber team on offense, but Adams certainly contributed to that. He’s now built himself a comfortable lead in the stickers race due to several elite performances.

So there you have it, eleven weeks in and the table stands:

Jamal Adams 15 points (4 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze)

Le’Veon Bell 10 points (2 gold, 2 silver)

Ryan Griffin 6 points (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze)

Folorunso Fatukasi 4 points (1 gold, 1 bronze)

Sam Darnold 4 points (1 gold, 1 bronze)

C.J. Mosley 3 points (1 gold)

Jamison Crowder 3 points (1 silver, 1 bronze)

Jordan Jenkins 2 points (1 silver)

Brian Poole 2 points (1 silver)

Leonard Williams 2 points (1 silver)

Darryl Roberts 2 points (1 silver)

Kyle Phillips 2 points (1 silver)

Nathan Shepherd 1 point (1 bronze)

Tarell Basham 1 point (1 bronze)

Arthur Maulet 1 point (1 bronze)

Trenton Cannon 1 point (1 bronze)

Robby Anderson 1 point (1 bronze)
