With six weeks left in the 2019 NFL season, the Jets currently hold the fifth spot in the 2020 NFL Draft according to Tankathon.
Four other teams hold a 3-7 record, but the Jets hold the current tiebreaker over all of them, which is the worst opponent strength of schedule.
The race for picks is very tight. The Jets are only one game “behind” the Giants and the Dolphins for picks three and four. Both of those teams are currently 2-8.
A number of teams are within a game of the Jets for pick number five. All the way down at pick 14, the Bears are one game back at 4-7. (Chicago’s pick will go to Oakland as part of the Khalil Mack trade.)
There is still a lot of football left to be played, and clearly there is a wide range of potential outcomes from the Jets’ ultimate Draft position.
Cincinnati currently holds the top pick, followed by Washington, the Giants, and Miami.
