On a cloudy and cool November afternoon in Washington, D.C., in the Jets’ 10th game of the 2019 season, the New York Jets defeated the Washington Redskins, 34 - 17.
The game started out great for the Jets. They scored a touchdown on their opening drive for the fourth straight game. The Jets defense dominated a befuddled Dwayne Haskins. The Jets offense hummed under the direction of Sam Darnold, with three first half touchdown passes, supplemented by some hard running by Bilal Powell and Le’Veon Bell, and the Jets went into the locker room with a comfortable 20 - 3 first half lead.
After a scoreless third quarter Sam Darnold threw his fourth touchdown pass of the game to Jamison Crowder early in the fourth quarter. A Redskins fumble on the next possession resulted in another Jets touchdown and the rest of the game was garbage time in a rare Jets laugher.
With the win the Jets have their first winning streak of the 2019 season. Their record improves to 3-7 on the year, with a game against the Oakland Raiders on tap next week.
