Week 11 of the 2019 NFL season continues with three late afternoon games.
The best of the games has the 8-1 New England Patriots heading to the City of Brotherly Love to square off against the 5-4 Philadelphia Eagles in a rematch of Super Bowl LII. The Patriots are looking to rebound from their first loss of the 2019 season, a 37-20 shellacking at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens last week. After feasting on the dregs of the NFL to start the season the Patriots now find themselves facing five straight games against playoff contenders. This stretch should reveal a lot about the Patriots’ chances for yet another Super Bowl title.
The Eagles have had a wildly uneven season so far in 2019. They have yet to string together more than two straight wins or two straight losses. The Eagles have beaten some very good teams and lost to some very bad teams. Coming off two straight wins against the Buffalo Bills and the Chicago Bears, who knows what the Eagles will bring to the table this week against the Patriots?
In other late afternoon action, the 8-1 San Francisco 49ers, like the Patriots, look to rebound from their first loss of the season last week. The 49ers draw a favorable matchup at home against the 3-6-1 Arizona Cardinals. Also in the late games the sad sack Cincinnati Bengals, the only remaining winless team in the NFL, make the long trip west to take on the 5-4 Oakland Raiders. The Raiders look to feast againt the hapless Bengals in what is shaping up as a surprising playoff push by the Raiders in Jon Gruden’s second year of his return to the sidelines as Raiders’ head coach.
Enjoy the games everybody. Use this thread to comment on whichever late afternoon games catch your fancy.
