In addition to Sam Darnold, the Jets were expecting to get tight end Chris Herndon back in the lineup this week. Herndon’s four game suspension has ended.
Unfortunately for the team, Herndon is apparently dealing with a hamstring injury he suffered late last week.

If there is one thing we have learned in the early part of this season it is that Adam Gase wants to have a tight end on the field at all times no matter what his team’s personnel looks like. During Herndon’s absence, the team lacked a quality option at the position. Still Ryan Griffin has seen 93% of the snaps.
Herndon would provide a huge upgrade at the position. He is the one tight end on the roster who can add a threat to the seam. He and Sam Darnold also developed some solid chemistry last season.
