On the true MVPs of the Jets game:

Some winners from today: The team doctors. They likely saved Darnold’s life and that doesn’t happen very often in the NFL.

On not understanding how the Jets could be this bad:

Last year compared to this year

this is pretty much the same team from last year yet they are doing much worse. Is a third string QB to blame? Partially, but the team shouldn’t be this futile. The offensive line might lack talent but they are all veteran players with some history of success in this league. Did they suddenly forget how to play the position? This to me is pure coaching because as bad as things were last year, we were competitive in most games. How can a team look this bad after two weeks to prep? Gase should have three games with Darnold. If he cannot get it together by then, you need to cut your losses. I am so relieved I didn’t purchase season tickets

On the Jets’ historic level of ineptitude:

Fun facts: Gase is currently working on a 7 game streak of games with 270 yards of total offense or less, going back to his last three games in MIA. Only 3 coaches this millenium have had a streak that long. Gase is also the HC of the only Jets team in history to have back to back games with 70 yards or less passing yards and 70 yards or less rushing yards. There have been only 5 such performances in all of Jets history; Gase has 2 of the 5 in four games as Jets HC.

On what Adam Gase needs to show from this point forward:

I’m reasonably certain Gase will see out the season, which probably means a few games with Darnold and Herndon. Comes against the weaker part of our schedule too. In many ways he’s going to get a great chance to succeed, at least enough to keep his job. Just needs to show something that directionally indicates he can take Darnold’s game up a level. Part of that is some kind of credible blocking scheme, of course. I don’t think we came into the season thinking this was a great or even average line, but not sure on talent this unit is quite this bad. Something needs to change.

On how clueless the Jets organization is:

If we fired gase...i truly believe the johnsons would go and sign jay gruden lol

They are that clueless

On the difference between a great coach, a mediocre coach and a terrible coach:

Gase

A great coach would’ve stolen a win in one of the last three games. A mediocre coach would’ve gotten a respectable loss or two, and blown out probably at least once. A terrible coach gives up before they even start, and they become total embarrassments.

On a wish list for the Jets:

Wish List

1) New Owners 2) New HC and Coaching Staff 3) Draft players with talent, and keep good ones when you have them.
