After his name came up in trade talks on Tuesday, Jamal Adams lashed out on the Jets on social media. After a day where things could have settled down, cooler heads clearly have yet to prevail.
Jamal Adams on if he wants to be with #Jets long term or if he will ask for trade in offseason “I really don’t know”

Asked if he thinks Jets want him: “I don’t know”
A candid Jamal Adams: “I know (Joe Douglas) has a job to do. And I respect it. But I hold myself in a high regard. I’ve done everything they asked me to do in 3 years. I don’t take that lightly. Rams don’t take calls on Aaron Donald. Patriots don’t take calls on Tom Brady.”

Jamal Adams is making those of us who have vouched for his leadership ability look pretty foolish right now.
If you’re in the NFL your name might come in trade talks. It isn’t easy, but it’s part of the job. You have to deal with it. When your team has won two games in the last calendar year, nobody is untouchable.
Jamal Adams is not Aaron Donald. Jamal Adams is not Tom Brady. For him to compare himself to either seems detached from reality.
Then you have this nugget.
Adams said when heard something was close with Dallas he told Ryan Clark he would love to play for Cowboys.

Adams wants to have it both ways. The Jets can’t listen to offers on him, but apparently he should be able to openly pine to be on another team.
Jamal Adams might be a great professional football player, but he isn’t acting like much of a professional right now.
