Week 8 of the 2019 NFL season continues with just three late afternoon games.
Perhaps the best game this afternoon has the 4-2 Carolina Panthers visiting the surprising 6-0 San Francisco 49ers, one of only two undefeated teams left in the NFL. Take a bow if coming into the 2019 NFL season you thought the 49ers would be undefeated this late in the season.
In other late afternoon action, the 3-3 Oakland Raiders battle the 4-3 Houston Texans. A win by the Raiders would put them in the lead position for the second wild card spot in the AFC playoffs. Again, take a bow if you saw that coming. In the last late afternoon game, the Cleveland Browns and struggling second year quarterback Baker Mayfield become the latest sacrificial lambs for the undefeated Patriots’ smothering defense.
