The first half of the New York Jets game against the Jacksonville Jaguars is in the books, and the Jets trail the Jaguars 19 - 7.
The Jets started the game very shaky, giving up an immediate 66 yard run by Leonard Fournette followed by a touchdown pass to Keelan Cole, beating Jamal Adams.
The Jets then quickly answered, Sam Darnold leading an efficient long touchdown drive to give the Jets a 7 - 6 lead. A Darnold interception later in the first quarter led to a 70 yard touchdown pass by Gardner Minshew as Jacksonville re-took the lead 13 - 7.
After a first quarter full of fireworks the defenses settled down and the offenses bogged down a bit. The Jets offense couldn’t get anything going after their opening drive, as Jacksonville ratcheted up the pressure on Darnold. Jacksonville managed a long field goal drive to take a 16 - 7 lead midway through the second quarter, then followed it up with another long field goal drive to close out the first half.
We go into the second half with the Jets leading trailing by 12 points.
Enjoy the second half everybody.
