Jets vs. Patriots: Five Bold Predictions

New, comments
NFL: New York Jets at New England Patriots David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

The Jets bounced back last week with a win against Dallas, but there’s a bigger challenge this week. With Sam Darnold back on the field for the Jets’ rematch with the Patriots, fans should expect a better product on the field regardless of the final score. Few will be picking the Jets in this game, but that’s no reason to stop the bold.

Disclaimer: Bold Predictions are not realistic expectations for the game, but rather something that is unlikely to happen, yet possible. These predictions are both pro-Jets and stretch the boundaries of probability. Claiming that Sam Darnold throws a touchdown pass is not a Bold Prediction, nor is claiming that Sam Darnold throws 20 touchdown passes. These predictions must be within the bounds of possibility, but also highly improbable. As always, the final score prediction remains a realistic guess at the result of the game and does not relate to the Bold Predictions.

Here are my five bold predictions for today’s game:

  • Three Jets rush for a touchdown.
  • No Patriots player rushes for over 50 yards.
  • The Jets win the turnover battle by at least 3.
  • The Jets defense holds Brady to under 200 yards and no touchdowns.
  • Sam Darnold throws, catches, and rushes for a touchdown.

Final Score: Jets 22, Patriots 38

And a bonus prediction: Leonard Williams gets a sack.
