Week 7 Early Afternoon Games Open Thread

Wild Card Round - Houston Texans v Indianapolis Colts Photo by Tim Warner/Getty Images

Week 7 of the 2019 NFL season offers a plethora of early afternoon games.

There aren’t a lot of great matchups this week. Perhaps the best of the early afternoon games has the Houston Texans and their great young quarterback Deshaun Watson taking on the Indianapolis Colts with first place in the AFC South division on the line. The Colts just aren’t the same without the recently retired Andrew Luck, but they have a deep enough team that they are still in contention for a division title. One of these two teams will likely win the AFC South, so this game shapes up to be a big game with playoff implications.

Elsewhere in the early games the Minnesota Vikings face the Detroit Lions in an NFC North showdown; the Arizona Cardinals take on the New York Ginats in a battle of also rans with interesting rookie quarterbacks; the San Francisco 49ers visit the Washington Redskins in what looks to be a 49er walkover; the Miami Dolphins shuffle on up to Buffalo to play the Bills as old friend Ryan Fitzpatrick has the misfortune of staring down a fierce Bills defense with little in the way of a supporting cast; the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Cincinnati Bengals play an already meaningless game in mid October; the surprising Oakland Raiders attempt to upset Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers; and the Los Angeles Rams take on the hapless Atlanta Falcons as the seat gets white hot for Dan Quinn.

Enjoy the games everybody. Use this thread to comment on whichever early afternoon games catch your fancy.
