Jets left guard Kelechi Osemele will miss the remainder of the 2019 season with a shoulder injury.
Sources: #Jets G Kelechi Osemele is having surgery to repair his shoulder. Rough news for a team coming off its first win. This dates back to the issues that first popped up a few weeks ago.

Jets LG Kelechi Osemele is having shoulder surgery, a source confirmed (as @RapSheet said). Adam Gase suggested a couple of weeks ago that the injury looked serious. #Jets are happy with Alex Lewis at LG. He might have supplanted K.O. anyway, but this hurts their depth.

Alex Lewis has started the last two games in place of an injured Osemele and been an upgrade so this might not be a huge deal for the Jets.
Osemele was acquired during the offseason in a trade with the Raiders. The Jets sent a fifth round pick to Oakland while the Raiders packaged a sixth round pick with Osemele. With that in mind, the Jets gave up practically nothing to acquire him. I think it was a worthwhile gamble for a former Pro Bowler, but it didn’t work out.
Osemele’s Jets career is likely over. The team can save $11.7 million against the cap by cutting him in the offseason. If Lewis can continue to look like starting material at guard, that money could be freed up to improve the roster somewhere else.
