NFL: Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

Monday Night Football, Week 6. In tonight’s game the Detroit Lions take on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

In the renewal of a long standing division rivalry, the Lions come into the game with a 2-1-1 record, good for third place in a tough NFC North division. Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is within striking distance of making history. Stafford needs just 352 more passing yards to become the fastest player in NFL history to reach 40,000 for his career. The current record, held by Matt Ryan, is 151 games; tonight will be Stafford’s 146th NFL game.

The Green Bay Packers come into tonight’s game sitting atop the NFC North standings with a 4-1 record. Unlike recent Packers teams, this team isn’t all about Aaron Rodgers’ greatness. The Packers defense is holding its own this year, ranking 8th in the NFL in points allowed and 5th in turnovers generated. That kind of ball hawking defense combined with the sublime talents of Rodgers on offense makes for a pretty tough Packers team to beat.

It’s the Lions and the Packers in an NFC North showdown on Monday Night Football. Enjoy the game everybody.
