The Jets recorded their first victory of the 2019 season yesterday, a 24-22 triumph over the Dallas Cowboys. New York improved its record to 1-4. On today’s podcast I offer some thoughts on what happened.
The big star of the day was clearly the quarterback. Sam Darnold returned from mono and had a stellar day. The 22 year old looked totally in command of the offense as he threw for 338 yards and a pair of touchdowns in his return. Darnold lifted up a unit that had looked hopeless in previous weeks. Like any young quarterback, Sam will have ups and downs. When some of those downs come, you can remember this performance to think about how high the ceiling is for the future.
On the show today I discuss some of the other key performers in this victory. Darnold had plenty of help in pulling out this win.
Thanks for listening.
