The Steelers come into this game reeling, victims of a tough early season schedule, several close losses, and the loss of their first and second string quarterbacks. As a result the Steelers come into the game with a very un-Steelers like record of 1-4. Devlin Hodges will be starting at quarterback for the Steelers tonight, and their chances of winning this game depend on Hodges looking like a real NFL quarterback.
Fortunately for the Steelers, the Chargers have also struggled early on this season. The Chargers come into the game with a 2-3 record, losers of three of their last four games, the dreadful Miami Dolphins providing their only win in the last month. Turnovers have been the Chargers bugaboo thus far in 2019, as Philip Rivers has uncharacteristically struggled with ball protection. The Chargers need this game desperately if they hope to remain in the playoff chase this year.
It’s the Steelers and the Chargers on Sunday Night Football.
Enjoy the game everybody.
