Todd Bowles was not out of work for long. The former Jets head coach has been hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as defensive coordinator and will work under longtime mentor Bruce Arians who was just hired as head coach there.
Todd Bowles is going as DC, Byron Leftwich as pass-game coordinator, Harold Goodwin as pass-game coordinator. Like I said, BA had his ducks in a row. https://t.co/6IMy2iviC9

It didn’t work out in New York, but I don’t have any animosity for Bowles. He seems like an upstanding guy. He didn’t make excuses or take shot at others in the media unlike some members of this organization.
Bowles has a strong track record as an assistant and is well-respected as a defensive coordinator. While his defensive units underachieved in New York, Bowles frequently suggest that he was deferring a lot to coordinator Kacy Rodgers. That was a mistake if so. So was the hiring of Rodgers. But now Bowles will be hands on again.
This should be a good chance to him to restart his career and allow all sides to get some distance from his failed head coaching tenure.
