Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets

Good morning, Jets fans. I hope you all had a great weekend, and hopefully Monday isn’t hitting you too hard. The Jets will have their official press conference of Adam Gase later today (More thoughts on him and the team below). The second round of the NFL Playoffs concluded yesterday, with the Saints and Patriots both winning today. The NFC Championship game will now feature a clash between the Rams and the Saints. The AFC Championship is going to be the Patriots against the Chiefs. For the Patriots, this is their 8th straight AFC Championship appearance. As a Jets fan that really irked me, and it got me to thinking. What team was the juggernaut that stopped the Pats from making that Conference Championship Game? None other than ‘Sexy Rexy’ and the New York Jets, circa 2011. To be honest, I think we can help take credit for the Patriots run in success. After that season (as well as many of seasons before Ryan’s tenure) the Jets have been a staple of mediocrity (as have the rest of the AFC East), essentially guaranteeing the title of Divisional Champion each year to New England. Since 2002, no other team in the NFL has won their division 10 times or more, but the Patriots have. I don’t want to hear how great BB and Brady are, because every dynasty crumbles. Their dynasty continues to stand because of mediocre decisions by the Jets (as well as Phins/Bills) every single year. The Jets/Bills/Dolphins staff over the years have been primarily retreads of each others’ staff—a.k.a.—a group of people who have never proven to beat Brady and the Patriots. Doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results is a definition of insanity. Well, the Jets hired Adam Gase, a former Dolphin HC who has only shown that he can improve a Quarterback’s numbers throughout a season, but not a W/L record. We’ll see what happens, but I’m still not at all optimistic. With that said (apologies for the rant), here are your daily links to the Jets on Monday..
